The Self-Driving Car of Crypto Wallets

Magic Labs CoFounder & CEO shares his vision for fixing the crypto UX with Newton

When I was growing up, my dad always referred to the transition he lived through as cars moved from stick shift to automatic transmission. There was a control he drew confidence in knowing how to drive stick shift but by the time I was learning to drive, it was a small minority who opted for manual transmission versus the ease of getting into a car with automatic transmission. I honestly never cared to take steps backwards and learn to drive stick-shift, even if it saved me gas money during that era.

Similarly, we’re in a stick-shift era of crypto wallets, where you have to manually fumble through bridging, swapping, staking, knowing which apps or bridges to use. There’s not even a real GPS to the crypto UX—you’re on your own to navigate the open roads of DeFi.

Some might even argue with new in-wallet features like portfolio tracking, swaps, staking and more, that wallets have progressed to a semi-automatic state but without getting lost in the analogy, crypto wallets are clearly ready to make a huge leap forward into “the self-driving car” era thanks to AI.

In this episode of The Edge Podcast, we talk with Magic Labs CoFounder and CEO Sean Li about Newton, the company’s ambitious new product designed to fix the crypto UX once and for all. With Newton, users can automate their onchain strategies and put their portfolio on autopilot, unlocking a new era of wallet-native agents that work for you.
