How To Be Early In Crypto According To Maven 11
Where a top crypto VC is placing bets in 2025

If you’ve never heard of Maven 11, do yourself a favor and follow @Maven11Capital.
Maven 11 has invested early in some of my favorite DeFi products and teams including Maple Finance, Olympus, and RedStone. In fact, Maven 11 invested in Zapper when I was the second hire on the team.
Put simply, they’ve been investing early in great builders for a long time, they are active participants in DeFi, they are more technical than I am as a power-user of DeFi, they bet early on transformative teams (ie Celestia), and they build strong relationships with founders.
But to be early to any big idea in crypto has never felt more competitive this cycle. So given Maven 11 has made a name for itself doing just that, we thought it was time we invite them onto The Edge Podcast. In this episode, we talk with Maven 11 Research Partner Mads Mathiesen about where they find conviction to invest during markets that can feel either overhyped or oversold. From stablecoins to consumer apps, to “opinionated applications” and new thoughts on the “fat app thesis,” we unpack how crypto’s sharpest venture firm is positioning itself for the next era of innovation.
