⚙️ GEARBOX PROTOCOL | ONCHAIN LENDING REIMAGINED
Before we get started, this is never a recommendation or endorsement to buy any token(s) mentioned, and here’s a few risks to consider:
Smart contract risk in any underlying protocols
Pool size and liquidity depth
Front-end spoof attack on an app frontend
An economic design exploit
Colluding signers on any multisig
Systemic risk across DeFi, including stablecoin depegs
Stablecoin Yields
Here’s the top yielding stablecoin vaults (non-boosted) for the past 30 days according to Vaults.fyi:

Min $10M TVL (30 day avg, non-boosted yield)

Bonus: Aave’s Umbrella officially went live recently and as DeFi Dad points out below, the yields are very solid:
Too many of you are sleeping on @aave Umbrella!
An updated version of the Safety Module called Umbrella went live to help cover shortfall events.
aToken stakers (lenders) can earn:

10.2% APY (aUSDT)

But what are the risks? There’s a very thorough breakdown in their docs here.
Here’s an excerpt from the docs where I’ve highlighted a particularly important section in red. Essentially, I will be approaching these as fairly low risk:

Bonus: I’m always keeping an eye on what Stephen from DeFi Dojo is up to and he had a nice thread on ETH yields that showcased some solid Mantle yield opportunities:
3) @Mantle_Official has some spicy cmETH yields.
Pendle estimates the total APR of cmETH to be around 5.8%.
@lendle lets you borrow at 1.05%.
Unfortunately, only up to 82.5%. BUT, at 80%, that's 5x leverage.
That's a 24% net yield using Pendle's IY.
However, it's only a

One other thing on Mantle, they are leaning heavily into the Hyperliquid ecosystem (smart) with an initiative they are calling DAL (Double Adaptive Liquidity). This is all being spearheaded by the Mantle Scouts Program in collaboration with HypurrCollective and I happen to be a Mantle Scout so I wanted to share this with everyone who reads The Edge Newsletter as well. I think we see even deeper partnerships start to form between Mantle x Hyperliquid.

Proof of Scout
Currently, mETH Protocol is live on Morphobeat, HyperSwap, HypurrFi, and Hyperbeat/Mizu. Their flagship cmETH is already ~50% of the TVL in the HyperETH vault.
If you want to read up more on this initiative between Mantle x Hyperliquid you can check it out here
Yield Trading
Here’s what the top yield markets on Pendle look like across Stables, BTC and ETH:
Stables

12.28% - 14.27%
We are investors in GAIB that has two tokens in the top 5 this week (AIDaUSDC + AIDaUSDT). If anyone wants to learn more about this novel protocol and where the yield comes from, we wrote all about it here:
BTC

2.11% - 2.86%
ETH

5.03% - 5.67%
Leverage Looping Yields
Looping can be a very effective leverage strategy to earn more yield, but one must be cautious to monitor borrowing rates, and liquidations which are a necessary cost to generate such leveraged yields (we don’t recommend max leverage). It’s also important to know if you’re going after points or real yield when looping.
Last week we highlighted Maple’s SyrupUSDC pool on Kamino’s Multiply vault. We showcased the lower APY version that borrowed USDC under the hood which just felt a bit more comfortable to me. This week we’re highlighting the higher APY loop that borrows GUSD under the hood. I wasn’t familiar with GUSD (Global Dollar) until now, but they seem to have some exceptional partnerships and decent early traction ($311M FDV).
My only worry here with with GUSD is its a bit less familiar to me than some of the other big stables. I checked on Coingecko and they did have what looks like a depeg back in January of 2025 so I would approach this with a bit of caution, but hopefully they’ve ironed out any hiccups by now.
This loop is currently yielding around 22% APY and still $2M in liquidity available at the time of writing this:

That’s all for now, thanks for checking it out!
